Hornets defense plays big in win against Liberty

After allowing 11 first quarter points, the Wellsboro defense shut down Liberty en route to a 63-32 NTL West win. Junior Matt Reese led the Hornets in scoring with 13 points, while Dylan Prough dropped 11, and Sam Mitchell added 9. Reese also recorded six steals, five boards and four assists in Wellsboro's 18th win of the season. The win brings their overall record to 18-3 (10-1 NTL West).

In JV action, Freshman Michael Pietropola scored 15 points to give Wellsboro a 45-37 win against Liberty. With the win, the JV squad improves their 2011-12 season record to 13-8. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, February 15 as they travel to Blossburg to take on North Penn.
