The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team lost their final regular season game to Jersey Shore on Thursday, February 13.

Jersey Shore held the Lady Hornets to just 9 points in the 1st half and 22 points overall, their lowest of the season. Jersey Shore scored 26 in the 1st half and 13 in the second to win 39-22.

"The girls played decent defensively, however we struggled getting into our offense and taking care of the ball tonight," coach Maureen Poirier said. "Time to regroup and get ready for Loyalsock next week."

Senior Cathryn Brought had 9 points to lead Wellsboro while freshman Jordyn Abernathy had 6, junior Bailey Monks added 4, and sophomore Emma Coolidge chipped in with 3 points.

Aubrey Stetts led all scorers with 14 points.

The loss ends the Lady Hornets' regular season record at 11-11. The team will be back in action next week in the District IV Class AAA playoffs as the #8 seed, and will face top-seeded Loyalsock.
