Lady Hornets fall at Towanda, 47-19

The Wellsboro Lady Hornets traveled to Towanda for an NTL Large School Division afternoon contest, which Towanda won 47-19.

The Lady Black Knights rolled to an 18-2 lead after the first quarter and led 36-5 at halftime as the cruised the rest of the way.

Junior Emma Coolidge led the Lady Hornets with 6 points and 4 rebounds on the afternoon. Sophomore Rylie Boyce added 5 points and 3 rebounds, while seniors Sarah Mosher and Kiyah Boyce and sophomores Abbye Cavanaugh and Ella Posada all chipped in two points. Mosher added 2 steals and assists, and Kiyah Boyce and senior Bailey Monks blocked shots.

Towanda also won the JV game, 34-11.

The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 4-7 overall and 3-7 in the Large School Division. The team is back in action on Monday against rival North Penn-Mansfield.
