Lady Hornets Fall To Muncy In Tip-Off Tournament

Wellsboro fell 41-19 to Muncy in the nightcap of the Muncy Rotary Tournament on Friday, December 8.
The Lady Indians jumped out to a 14-5 lead after the first quarter and went on to outscore the Lady Hornets 9-4 in the second to lead 23-9 at halftime. Muncy held Wellsboro to just 10 points in the second half, handing the Lady Hornets their first loss of the season.
Junior Chloe Brandenburg led Wellsboro with 8 points while seniors Emily Morris had 5 and Maddy Mascho had 3. Sophomore Lily Wagner added 2 points and senior Emily Richardson added a point. Mascho added 4 rebounds and an assist, Morris had a pair of steals and 3 rebounds, Richardson grabbed 5 boards. Brandenburg added 1 steal and 1 assist.
Wellsboro (1-1, 1-0 NTL Large School Division) plays Benton tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the consolation game. The JV team is also in action against Benton at 3:30 p.m.
