Lady Hornets Down Sayre 45-28 Thanks To Big 2nd Quarter

A 20-point 2nd quarter by Wellsboro propelled the Lady Hornets to a 45-28 win over Sayre to improve to 3-1 on Wednesday, December 18.
Wellsboro held the Lady Redskins to 8 or fewer points in each quarter.
Wellsboro scored 14 points to hold an early lead, then padded the lead to 34-16 at halftime.
Senior Chloe Brandenburg scored a game-high 25 points, including hitting six three-pointers. Senior Paige Logsdon added 9 points, freshman Teagan Novinger pitched in 8, and junior Lily Wagner added 3 points.
Elizabeth Hunter and Abbie McGaughey scored 10 points each for Sayre.
There was no JV game.
Wellsboro (3-1, 1-1 NTL Large School Division) hosts Williamson on Friday.
